January 8 – February 26, 2020
Stream Yoga + Meditation, 819 Weaver Rd, Port Colborne
“Happiness is a habit ― cultivate it.”
― Elbert Hubbard
Find your focus for the year ahead. Join us for these weekly sessions, designed to help you start and/or support a regular at-home meditation practice.
Learn and gain confidence with mindfulness habits that can transform your life.
In these ongoing Wednesday sessions, we investigate Buddha’s traditional teachings (dharma) in a way that is modern, simple, nondogmatic and practical; with a clear view to the ways in which we can use meditation and mindfulness to free our minds in the midst of our busy and stressful lives.
A simple joy is available to us any time that we can relax — regardless of our external conditions. In fact, learning to relax and be still may be the single most important thing we can do to improve our life, our relationships and ultimately our world.
January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19, 26, 2020
$96 (includes HST) for the 8-week series (or $15 drop-in per class); you can also drop-in any time using any of our Stream Yoga class passes.
Pre-register by email firstname.lastname@example.org, call 905.401.YOGA (9642) or text Heather at 519.400.7862.
What to bring/wear?
If you have a meditation cushion or stool that you are accustomed to using, please bring it along. Bolsters, blankets, yoga mats and blocks are available at the studio. No special clothing is required, but it’s good to be comfortable, so please avoid restrictive clothing.
Can I drop in for one or two sessions only?
Yes! Classes are offered in a series but can also be considered to be ‘self-contained.’ Especially if you have come to previous series with us, and/or you are looking for a group of like-minded people to meditate with — it’s certainly appropriate to simply ‘come when you can.’ Drop-in fee is $15 (includes HST).
Please email email@example.com, call 905.401.YOGA (9642) or text Heather at 519.400.7862.
Who is facilitating the sessions?*
Meditation + Yoga Instructor
Heather first met with Buddhist teachings in the Fall of 2000, and has since spent her time avidly exploring the nature of mind.
*a note on ‘Who is facilitating the sessions?’
This 8-week course has been organized and will be overseen by our regular meditation teacher, Heather Fenton, who will kick off the first session January 8th. Heather will be on maternity leave (starting mid-January) but close at hand to provide guidance to a handful of senior students who have been practicing meditation regularly here at Stream for the past 2-3 years. These senior students will guide the weekly sessions and group discussions.
