Live Online Classes

We’re live online with yoga + meditation classes during the COVID 19 outbreak.

Joining us is as simple as clicking the ‘Join Zoom Session’ button for the specific date + time of the class you’d like to attend. The teacher will be in the ‘zoom room’ 15 minutes before the start of class, so you can log on, check your settings and ask any questions.

Some classes (all day Sundays and Thursday evenings) are free/by donation and some have a fee. You can find information about purchasing a class pass here. Thank you for supporting the teachers. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please get in touch if our classes are beyond your means and you would like to attend.

The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, is a powerful mantra used for cultivating peace and harmony, health and healing of physical, mental, energetic, emotional imbalances for ourselves and others. It also helps us to overcome fears. We will chant the mantra together 108 times.

Mantras are repetitive sounds used to penetrate the depths of the unconscious mind and adjust the vibration of all aspects of our being, physical, mental and emotional. The Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is chanted in Sanskrit.

MONDAY MORNING VINIYOGA

Viniyoga was developed by Krishnamacharya and his son Desikachar. It is a breath-based practice of poses that meets people where they are. Viniyoga respects each person’s individual abilities and limitations and encourages every ‘body’ to find greater flexibility, peace and centeredness within themselves.

In this particular series of classes Oda will work with mindful movement sequences that address issues such as tight hamstrings, lower back problems, shoulder and neck restrictions and problems with insomnia and anxiety.

PROPS for class: Gentle yoga is done sitting in a sturdy chair. We also use yoga blocks, straps, a pillow and a blanket. If you don’t have blocks or a strap, we can get creative with regular household items, such as large books for blocks or a simple belt can be used for a strap. The teacher is happy to help you sort out props if you log on a few minutes early for class.

TUESDAY EVENING HATHA

Cultivating a sense of inner peace and soothing the body with gentle stretches are great ways to prepare your body for a restful evening and rejuvenating sleep. This class will focus on postures that will restore the body from the days activities and inspire a sense of deep rest to prepare for sleep.

This class is suitable to all levels and abilities. It’s recommended that for this class you have access to a pillow, blanket and a chair to support some of the postures.

Gather your mind for a relaxing 90-min meditation class, with guided meditations, instructions for practice (dharma) and time for discussion and Q&A. Suitable for new or experienced meditators.

In these ongoing meditation sessions, we investigate Buddha’s traditional teachings (dharma) in a way that is modern, simple, nondogmatic and practical; with a clear view to the ways in which we can use meditation and mindfulness to free our minds in the midst of our busy and stressful lives.
