PSOAS RELEASING EXPLORATION

Sunday, February 23, 2020 | 10:30am-12pm
Stream Yoga + Meditation, 819 Weaver Rd, Port Colborne

With visiting instructor Sandi Beaupre. Sandi is 1 of only 5 practitioners in Ontario teaching Clinical Somatic Education (and 1 of 21 in all of Canada), with the Essential Somatics® school.

Have you been told that your psoas muscle is tight? Have you wondered if your psoas (ilio-psoas muscle) may be a contributing factor to your low back discomfort? Do you have other movement restrictions or pain when walking?

This important flexor muscle connects your legs to your spine. It can become tight (over-contracted) for a number of reasons including repetitive movement, injury, surgery or even emotional stress. There are varied theories on how to release this vital stabilizing muscle. Clinical Somatic Education understands that your brain organizes your movement as a system. It’s never just one individual muscle. Learn how to improve your control and function of the psoas by improving the brain-muscle connection. Experience more freedom and fluidity with flexion, extension and rotation.
